Islamic tourism is geared to grow by 11% by 2020, $145bn in 2014
The international Islamic tourism market share is set to grow 11 per cent by 2020 on the back of a rising demand for Shariah compliant tourism. According to MasterCard data, the global Islamic travel market was estimated to be worth $145 billion in 2014, as the number of Muslim travellers reached 108 million worldwide, which makes up 10 per cent of total global tourism.
